I need tires. Looking for recommendations. Y’all know I drive a lot (175k miles in 4 1/2 years). Soft sporty compounds won’t cut it but I do want some good grip. Most of my driving is around town these days so I’m not on the highway 120 miles/day anymore since I’m no longer commuting. I’d like to keep the stock tire size so I don’t have to worry about speedo issues.

For our Forester I wanted something that would be completely unnoticeable to my Wife who drives it everyday - but still felt a bit grippy and fun when I drive .
I went with these and they have been fantastic for three years so far. Plus they were cheap at Costco.
I bumped up the width to 225/60-

I have these on the XJ8 and love them. They’re dead silent and comfy, with great grip. The only caveat is that I don’t think they’re anywhere near the 700 treadwear that’s claimed.

Back when I had my Alfa 164-s I drove 180k miles in two years, I went through two sets of Yokohama Avid AvS Intermediates, which replaced the Pirelli P6000s that were on it when I bought it. For winter I went through two sets of Nokia Hakkapelita NRWs. The money spent on tires was totally worth it. I guess what I'm saying is I don't have reccomendations for long-wearing tires... And I never felt all the money I spent on tires was wasted.

On my normal DD vehicles I go Michelin, they do feel better in the rain and seem to last. Made a bi g difference on my old Mercedes and I got them on my CRV. They were called Michelin X but I think they changed the name.

Ling Wong Crosswinds. They came on an Allroad I just picked up and I’m impressed so far.
